My brother and sister-in-law recently attended a reunion for her family. As you can imagine lots of pictures were taken in a variety of configurations but there was one picture in particular that I felt deserved some extra attention, and just in time for a birthday gift too.


Once I adhered the patterned strips from Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack, I mixed a touch of yellow with white watercolor paint to create a cream more compatible with the Colonial White cardstock used and then “splattered” to add some additional texture using our medium-flat waterbrush.

After allowing a few minutes for the splatters to dry, I finished embellishing with Thin Cuts and ribbons. Here’s a complete list of materials used:

Just like cleaning closets…

To make room for new you need to clean out the old (or so I’ve been told).  Although I may not always follow that practice when it comes to my own closets,  at Close To My Heart we have to in order to make room for all the exciting, new products coming August 1.  

From the 2015-2016 Annual Inspirations book we have seven colors from our Adventure collection retiring along with home decor and gift products, all the B&T and Fundamentals paper packs and more stamp sets than I can shake a stick at. If I weren’t so excited about the new items headed our way it might make me a bit sad to say goodbye to some tried and true favorites.

Superheroes – Craft Style

Recently I attended a weekend scrapbook crop with my friends aka ScrapBunnies.  The theme for the weekend was superheroes so we were Super ScrapBunnies – each with our own special crafting powers/abilities; techniques were deemed to be my strong suit. For our costumes we each created a chest plate to depict our special “powers”.
